MUSIC FOR A CAUSE

OUR STORY

Paying It Forward Is The Name Of That Tune

How many cover bands — whose members are a bunch of guys in their 50’s — have opened for Kelly Clarkson at Red Rocks in Denver?  Or in Boston for Queen Extravaganza (the tribute band put together by Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor)? Hurricane has!!

Hurricane formed in 2012, the brainchild of a group of financial advisors from around the country who worked for the same firm.  Guys who secretly wanted to dust off their instruments and rock out onstage as they had in their youth. After meeting during several national business conferences, they realized that together they had all the components needed to form a classic rock band:  a multi-talented bass player (Steve Hester….the most important person in the band), a true rock and roll drummer (Tony “Animal” Rizzuto), twin guitar wizardry (Paul Santucci and John Schubert), and the consummate front man and lead singer (the also multi-talented Roger Cummings).

Originally without a keyboard player, Hurricane focused on guitar-centric classic rock, covering songs from the 60’s through the 2000’s.  In 2016, Dan D’Alio (keyboards and exceptional backing vocals) rounded out the current lineup of the band and added a new, deeper dimension to Hurricane’s sound.

The band’s focus now is to continue their long string of performances at large charity events and private parties. In fact, events where they have performed have raised more than one-half million dollars in charitable giving. The Band is working to expand its charitable performances to additional cities like Cleveland, Nashville, Seattle, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia. Hurricane’s objective is to be the best non-profit rock cover band in the USA.
